How We Make Money
How Golden State Explained is funded through labeled advertising, our policy on affiliate links, and the rules we follow to keep our guides independent.
Golden State Explained is free to read. We pay for research and fact-checking with clearly labeled display ads (Google AdSense).
Affiliate links
We don't currently use affiliate links. If we add any, we'll label them on the page and update this disclosure.
What we never do
- Charge for government forms or services, or imply that we are a court, the DMV or the EDD.
- Send you anywhere other than the official agency website for official tasks.
- Take payment from lawyers for referrals. We're not a lawyer referral service.
- Ask for or collect your case, claim or license details, or sell lists of people. See our privacy policy for the limited technical data our host logs and the cookies used for ads.
- Accept payment to change, rank or remove content.
